TBL WHITE DAY SIX: GOLD COAST

GOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING GOLD COAST WOOO!!! I was definitely happy to wake up in a cosy bed with a lovely view outside Wyndham Hotel Surfers Paradise. Thrilled with excitement for the next big ambiguous adventure, we were sure to have our stomach filled with good breakie…

What a wonderful view to wake up to!

The Ops announced that we were going to have a BigMazing Race aka running around like wild chickens doing the mission impossible within teams of our blue and white roommates in the Gold Coast… As a reminder, some of us never been outside of Sydney!!! We had three hours to try to capture every moment and post them on Instagram. This included asking a stranger to propose to you, ghosting, busking with the locals, dancing in public, planking, yoga poses, selfie with a McDonald’s employee, etc. Throughout this challenge, we received wildcard tasks for bonus points. The objective of this race was to quickly do every challenge on the list in order gain points – the most points, wins!

Time flies by so quickly when you are having too much fun. With many of us having our energy drained from running around the Gold Coast, we headed towards our final mystery park to replenish our exhaustion and hunger. The Crops had prepared us lovely wraps for lunch. After a little bit of chilling or playing Frisbee, it was time to prepare a… FLASHMOB to our themed song, Happy (Pharrel Williams) at Surfers Paradise Mall!

Once we had our grooves and fancy moves down pat, it was time for a quick break to prepare ourselves for the next activity – Random Acts of Kindness. It was a special moment to spread the love, reinforce what The Big Lift is all about and ‘pay it forward’. We were split into our groups from the race, and given $20 to put to good use.

For example: giving out free cookies, sweets, hugs or flowers to brighten up a stranger's day

Then it was time to surprise the locals with our flashmob! It was a huge success, and heaps of fun! A big YEAH BUDDY to Maree and Tara and everyone else who helped choreo it!

Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth~

That night, we all had a wonderful family feast at a local Thai restaurant, organised by the Ops. It was a chance to celebrate all the amazing memories and experiences of the past week, and catch up with friends both old and new. The winners of the BigMazing race were announced to be.....*drumroll* The Woo Girls!

And with that, we were all free to enjoy our last night in the Gold Coast before our journey home.
