"Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear, and the blind can see" - Mark Twain
The Big Lift was founded on the principle of Paying It Forward. The idea is that by going forth into the world and doing good deeds for others and expecting nothing in return, we can all make the world a better place, one random act of kindness at a time.
Remember the last time a stranger smiled at you and gave you a compliment? Or you unexpectedly found out that the person in front of you had paid for your coffee? It's little things like this that make us feel #warm and #fuzzy inside and can brighten our entire day. Here at The Big Lift, we're dedicated towards creating more of those warm and fuzzy moments in the lives of everyone we meet. That's why we've launched the Pay It Forward initiative at UTS, a campaign that aims to get students and staff thinking more about the positive impact one good deed can have on someone's day.
Getting involved is simple. We've created Pay It Forward cards that will encourage more random acts of kindness on campus - all you have to do is perform a good deed and leave the card behind to continue the cycle of goodwill.
If you've been touched by an act of kindness, we encourage you to share your story using the hashtag #biglift2016 to help share the love and good vibes.
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Together, we can make our campus a better place, one small random act of kindness at a time.
