The time, conservations and perspectives that are shared when people collaborate and volunteer with each other should never be undervalued. It reveals just what humanity is capable of and inspires young people to live a life that considers kindness and open mindedness as enablers of real, positive change

WHAT IS THE BIG LIFT?

The Big Lift (TBL) is a student-run volunteering organisation at The University of Technology Sydney. Founded on the philosophy of 'paying it forward' in 2010, we have continued to run service projects to engage with university and external local communities. Primarily known for our Annual Winter Trip, we have expanded over the years by introducing Little Lifts and frequent communal volunteering opportunities both on and off the university campus. In doing so, our aim is to:

1. Inspire and provide an opportunity for people to develop a sense of civic duty and leadership

2. Connect city and international students with other parts of Australia to discover and learn more about the country and its people

3. Allow students to challenge and personally develop themselves by meeting new, diverse and like-minded individuals
